Championing smaller growers from (predominantly) mountainous regions located in France, Italy, California, and Oregon, Vino Alpino curates wines with a real sense of place, purity, and personality – soulful wines that have something to say.
We represent wineries who have the utmost respect for their land and work hard to farm in a minimal-intervention way in order to make wines that aptly capture the character of their respective regions (often working with grape varietals indigenous to their regions).

Meet HARRISON
Harrison Miller is a North Carolina native who caught the wine bug while living in the Bay Area and working as a coffee roaster, after graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill. He started attending focused tastings at various wine shops throughout San Francisco. He soon enrolled in a sommelier formation, which laid a solid wine foundation for him. From there, he decided to combine his newfound love of wine with his passion for traveling and found opportunities to work the harvest in Heathcote, Australia, followed by two harvest internships in Sicily (at COS and Ciro Biondi on Mt. Etna). The year was 2015.
From there, he decided to relocate to Brooklyn, New York in 2016, where he found a job in wine sales with a smaller importer. From there, he proceeded to work for two more New York-based wine importers over the next seven years.
Inspired by a winemaking friend in Sicily and a trip to France and Italy in 2022, he decided to pursue a year-long winemaking program in Beaune, Burgundy. This experience proved to be a time of learning and of reflection. At the end of that year, after meeting many new winemakers and working the 2023 harvest in Savoie, France, at Domaine des Ardoisières (close to the French-Swiss border), he decided to found an import company in his native North Carolina, focusing on compelling wines from (mainly) Alpine regions.
